Need to make food from Africa for a school project!?

We're doing this trade routes day in my world history class and my group's trade route is the trans-saharan trade route. it goes along the eastern coast of africa. The only things they traded on it were gold, salt, slaves, and ivory so there's not much food I can make from that besides using the salt for something. we can also just make any food from that region but I can't think of anything besides bananas which might not even be from there.
Try this website: http://www.whats4eats.com/africa
It has recipes from:
Ethiopia
Ivory Coast
Kenya
Mali
Nigeria
Senegal
South Africa
Sorry if it not what you are looking for, otherwise just search recipes from the region you want.
You could make qumbe, a popular Somali snack.

you should consider fried plantains, it's really easy to prepare and very popular in many african countries. plantains and bananas are indigenous to oceania but are widely cultivated in africa.
i don't know about east africa, but west africans traded palm oil back then. there are so many foods that can be cooked with palm oil.
Day Trading Seminars/Workshops?

I am in search for a good day trading workshop / seminar i can attend, nothing web based, I would prefer a small class size also. can anyone make any recommendations?
I know day trading is risky, I am very well capitalized and only plan on putting 10% of my portfolio into play, dont worry its enought.
Thanks!
I personally think it's better to depend on forum discussions than to depend on workshops and seminars, after all their main interest is to sell not to tell. There's many good forums with knowledgeable people who are sharing their trading methods. some are outright lies, but there are those that are very intriguing. It's easier to scan a forum for good posts than to scan the market for good workshops. I plan on creating a Forex trading group on Y!a. I'm not exactly sure how to do it yet, but I'm sure it'll be great. Feel free to email me if you're interested.
Aren't those seminars really just a pitch for you to buy whatever software they're selling?
The best way to get rich in a gold rush is to sell the shovels. the best way to make money day trading is to sell the software used for day trading.
Beginner looking to invest in the stock market?

Hello to any of those experienced investors out there. I'd like to learn everything I need to know to know to invest in the stock market with confidence. I am relatively clueless and I realize to absorb everything takes dedication, but I'd like to work up to being able of day trading.
I've surfed the internet, but I really don't know where to start. Everything is way too confusing for me right now. Where do I go from step 1?
To those of you who have invested before, do you recommend any books (I looked at the For Dummies edition) or helpful websites for a novice? What kind of software do you use for trading?
I could ask hundreds of questions, I have to lot to learn.
Would you believe that the least productive time to invest in something ..stocks..star mutual funds ..bonds or gold, is when it's most attractive, when people are their most Bullish...It's been historically proven...
The Dummies books are on Amazon, and stick with books e-books you can't read the charts, and charts are incredibly important....Books by Peter Lynch and Andrew Tobias.
The software comes with the discount broker..
I'd suggest you start out with "paper trading" and work up to swing trading, slower frequency with not as high a risk...Day Trading would likely be a mistake, a costly one.
You need a brokerage account. if you already have one then contact me and I will tell you the second step.
Try going to http://vse.marketwatch.com and sign up for a virtual stock game. you can do this for a period of time and see how you do. if you do well, I'd suggest going for the riskiest, but the most profitable route. any other way, the returns are too small compared to the market.
On my stock game, I've made 22% in profits over the course of about four months.
Also, if you sign up for accounts with www.Scotttrade.com or other brokers, they will have a lot of information for you.
I would agree with the person who posted before me that it's a good idea to get some Investing for Dummies books or something of that sort.....
Good luck!
